Piano Accompaniment

On piano accompaniment and how to find accompaniment tracks.

Philosophy of Accompaniment

We aim for a minimalist approach to accompaniment. The goal is to support the singing without drawing attention to itself. Accompaniment should enhance the hymn text and help those worshiping focus on the words and their meaning, not on the music itself. Simple, plain versions of hymns without special additions allow the rich language and biblical truths of the hymns to shine through.

How We Do It

In our club meetings, we typically have one person on piano who also sings. This approach:

  • Keeps the focus on the hymn text and the act of singing together
  • Maintains simplicity and accessibility
  • Allows for flexibility and spontaneity in our gatherings
  • Emphasizes the communal nature of hymn singing

The accompanist’s role is to support the singing, not to perform. The music serves the words, and together we lift our voices in praise to God.
